Cycle Confident - Barnard Park - LT 2017

LSE has partnered again with Cycle Confident to offer LSE students and staff FREE two-hour individual cycle training sessions which are funded by Westminster City Council.

This is what Cycle Confident say about their training;

"Whether you are a child, teenager or adult, our 1 to 1 sessions cater for trainees who are complete beginners through to experienced riders who need to refresh their road skills.

We will assess your abilities and progressively build on them. By working through the National Standards our instructors will help you cycle safely and with confidence on the roads.

Once competent, we can help plan the best routes to work, to friends' houses or wherever you want to go. We can incorporate these routes into your lessons."

You will need to bring a working bike to the training (though this can be a Santander Bike). Please also wear suitable clothing for cycling with consideration to the weather (gloves are often forgotten, but bring them with you in case you need them). Helmets are advised but not compulsory.

Places are limited, so book your place quickly to avoid disappointment.

If the session(s) you would like to book is taken, please add yourself to the waiting list, leaving your email address and mobile phone number, and we will contact you in the event of a cancellation.

Please note: A fee of £30 will be charged to anyone who fails to attend their lesson or cancels with less than 72 hours notice. This is so that we have enough time to find a replacement for your lesson, and to ensure that no lessons are wasted.

Training will take place regardless of the weather as long as it is safe. The instructor will assess the environment throughout the day and will contact you at least an hour before your lesson if it is cancelled.

Quick tip: Look out for Dr Bike sessions being arranged on campus. Get your bike serviced for FREE. The mechanics will be able to advise you on what needs to be done at a bike shop if it's something they can't fix there and then. The next bike maintenance session will be on Tuesday 21st February, 11am-2pm. There will also be free bike and laptop security marking on the library plaza.
